Azzedine Alaïa, Christian Dior — Two Masters of Haute Couture
Edited by Carla Sozzani and Olivier Saillard with text by Saillard, this Damiani volume sets Azzedine Alaïa's work in dialogue with the pieces of Christian Dior that Alaïa himself collected across his career. The premise comes out of a real-life thread: Alaïa first encountered Dior as a teenager in Tunisia through the fashion magazines of Madame Pinault, and undertook a four-day Maison Dior internship in 1956 that he carried with him for life.
The result is a study of two designers separated by three decades but bound by a shared sensibility around cut and craft. Hardcover, 112 pages, 70 colour illustrations. Pre-order; published Spring 2026.
