The complete photographic record of the 300 objects Giorgio Morandi kept in his Bologna studio at 36 via Fondazza — the vases, tins, shells and bottles that anchor the paintings. In 2015 Joel Meyerowitz spent time in the same rooms, using Morandi's own surfaces and the same northern light to photograph each object on the same tabletop the painter had marked up over decades.
