Walter Chandoha — Family Cats: From the Archive
A small Damiani volume drawn from the work of Walter Chandoha (1920–2019), arguably the most prolific cat photographer of the twentieth century, with an archive of more than 200,000 images. Family Cats gathers 55 black-and-white photographs that have been kept out of circulation for half a century, including Chandoha's original muse Loco — found and adopted in a New York City snowstorm in 1949.
Foreword and drawings by Grace Coddington, which tells you most of what you need to know about the editorial sensibility at work. Softbound, 48 pages, 17 × 22 cm. Pre-order; published Spring 2026.
